ANZAC Biscuits

Takes 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 160°C / 325°F / Gas Mark 3. Melt the butter and syrup in a large saucepan on a low heat. Dissolve the bicarbonate of soda in the water then stir into the butter. Mix the remaining ingredients together and stir into the pan of butter mixture. Using a dessert spoon and your finger. place spoonfuls of the mixture on to a lightly greased baking tray spread well apart to allow for them spreading. Bake tor 15-20 minutes or until a light golden brown. Cool for a few minutes then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Store the biscuits in an airtight container.
