The Board introduced a quarterly grant last June to replace Carrier Bag Money payments.

Each quarter the Board awards £250 to a local group nominated by the community.

Works were completed during lockdown and the hall now has an accessible toilet.

The December and March grants were both awarded at our March meeting, they went to Allendale Youth Ambition, and Higher Ground, Allendale.

Allendale Youth Ambition

Allendale Youth Ambition are refurbishing their premises and this money will help buy flooring for the kitchen. They offer a variety of activities for young people aged 9-17.

Higher Ground Allendale is a social enterprise that seeks to improve mental health and wellbeing through gardening. The grant will help with running costs this year.
