It is with deep regret that we announce the death of our former General Manager Matt Coulson, in February.
Matt was General Manager of Allendale Co-operative Society for 23 years. Matt joined Allendale Co-op from school. Leaving to become a Manager for The Co-operative Food Group at their Haltwhistle store.
He returned to Allendale Co-operative in 1986. During his tenure he guided the Society through a major redevelopment of the shop making it into the Supermarket that we see today. He also oversaw the redevelopment of the old premises into a butcher’s shop and flats.
